Sharing our resources to help alleviate human suffering is a vital part of our faith and mission. By partnering with humanitarian organizations such as Oxfam, Save the Children, Doctors without Borders, Mennonite Central Committee, and Maryknoll we continue to find ways to help victims of poverty, disease, and natural disaster.
Similarly, both through efforts of individual members and through a public charity we started decades ago to support outreach and service activities, each community remains involved in the neighborhood that surrounds it. We work with local schools, volunteer at hospitals, and help local charities and social service agencies to provide food and shelter for those in need of help.
Since our community was founded in 1920, we have been publishing books and magazines under the Plough imprint. Plough titles, which include spiritual classics, inspirational books, and children’s books, have been translated into dozens of languages and several have been bestsellers on both religious and secular booklists.
